Koma.id, Jakarta – The East Activist Front (BAT) is furious because the Papuan Armed Criminal Group (KKB) often distorts facts about human rights violations committed by TNI/Polri (soldiers and police) security forces.
According to BAT Chairman Riko, the accusations of the KKB led by Brigadier General Egianus Kogeya were only an attempt to attract the sympathy of the international community. While the issue of human rights and violence is their main weapon, in fact, it is they (KKB) who commit human rights violations.
“All of this is an attempt to distort facts and create public opinion as if the security forces committed a lot of violence and human rights violations.” But what they did was massacre innocent people; the small OAP community was also their vicious target. “The international community must see this matter as well; don’t hide it,” Riko said on Monday (February 27, 2023).

Riko said that the actions taken by the KKB and OPM were heinous crimes and violated the law in Republic of Indonesia. Moreover, he said, he took the Susi Air pilot from New Zealand hostage.
“One hundred percent of the law enforcement agencies must take action against those (KKB) who are brutal and barbaric.” “Usually they twist facts, playing victims, even though they are the ones who violate human rights,” he added.
He suspected that there were certain actors or individuals who wanted Papua to be unfavorable, which then spread unbalanced news and discredited the Indonesian National Police through social media, implying that if Papua was unfavorable, there would be a lot of violence, which was then played out.
“The weapons are indeed human rights issues; there are claims of genocide; and the situation in Papua is not conducive to provoking an international reaction.” We Eastern activists condemn the KKB’s actions, which have disturbed the Eastern people of the Melanesian race. “We protect Papua within the framework of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia,” he concluded.
